The trek begins in the bustling town of Lukla (2,828m), the gateway to the Khumbu region, known for its vibrant Sherpa culture and as the homeland of the legendary Sherpa people and the mysterious Yeti. Through your journey along the trails, you’ll traverse through dense forests of rhododendron, following the Dudh Koshi River, where one may spot endangered wildlife like Blue Sheep and Musk Deer. The region is also home to elusive Snow Leopards, though they are rarely seen. Trekkers will also encounter a variety of birds, including the striking Himalayan Pheasant and Monal.
A major highlight is reaching Namche Bazaar (3,500m), a vibrant Sherpa trading hub and a crucial acclimatization stop for trekkers. Situated above the altitude sickness threshold, Namche provides a perfect environment to adjust to the high altitude with two nights recommended for acclimatization. From Namche, the trek continues along the Imja Khola River, leading you deeper into the heart of the Himalayas, with the awe-inspiring peaks constantly in view.
As you ascend higher, passing through Lobuche and Gorakshep, the trail brings you to the iconic Everest Base Camp (EBC). Trekking at high altitude requires hard physical effort – you will need exceptional cardio-vascular fitness and to be thoroughly prepared. When you sign up, we’ll ask you to share key performance data and look closely at your past experience. We’ll then work with you to develop an appropriate training program, which will guarantee you the best chance of success.
If there are shortfalls within abilities and experience, we can collectively discuss the opportunities and/or provide a training support plan, including recommending preliminary climbs in the years and months leading up to this expedition, to ensure that you achieve your objective.
You may pay your 40% deposit and 60% balance using any lawful means. If sending money by electronic bank transfer then you will be responsible for covering the cost of the fees associated with the transfer, so that the company receives the full amount shown on your invoice, in the denomination shown on your invoice.
In case the client decides to cancel their trip, at any time between booking and the time of the trip, some deduction will be made to the advance amount. This is due to the company’s obligation to pay a certain amount for personnel and resources while booking them.
